Lloyd Thomas KING, 86, of Winterset, died of pneumonia Dec. 6, 1997 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services are today, Dec. 10, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Pastor Wayne HOFFMAN will officiate the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial will follow at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born, in Winterset, on Nov. 12, 1911 to Ray G. and Bertie (HARRIS) KING. He was a 1929 graduate of Winterset High School. On June 2, 1933, he married Marguerite Helen STEELE in Nashua.

In 1946, he went into partnership with his father at KING'S Clothing Store until retiring in 1972. He was also a lifetime resident of Madison County. He was a former member and president of the Iowa Retail Clothiers; life member of the Order of the B.P.E.O.; former member of the Winterset Chamber of Commerce; and a long time member of the Winterset Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Dr. Lloyd Thomas KING Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann KING-KERBER and husband John of Johnston; one sister, Mary Elizabeth MARTIN of Golden, Colo.; and 6 grandchildren.
