Doctor K, Retired Physician, Dies

Death came early Wednesday morning to Dr. D. H. KILLINGSWORTH, ending a life of service as physician to thousands in
Southwest Iowa, during more than fifty years. He would have been 85 years of age on next Sunday. "Doctor K" retired
from active practice four years ago, since which time he has been at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George [Lois] OWEN. His wife died
about two years ago. He practiced for ten years at Tingley before coming to Clarinda. Clarinda parks and sports teams
were Dr. KILLINGSWORTH'S hobbies. Few football games were placed with out his presence, no matter how cold the day, and
he took much personal interest in the boys who participated. Friends remember his early hours spent in improvment
of the city chautauqua grounds and other parks. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Blanche KILLINGSWORTH of
Clarinda, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruby KILLINGSWORTH, and grand-daughter, Mrs. Abbott MASON, both of Los Angeles,
Calif. The funeral is being held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the United Presbyterian church, in charge of
Rev. H. L. LIETMAN. Burial will be in Clarinda cemetery.
