Harlow FERRING died January 10, 1993 at Fountain West Health Care Ceneter. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. FERRING, who retired as superintendent of collection and delivery for the U.S. Postal Service, was born in Debuque [February 6, 1912] and lived in Des Moines 63 years. He was a member of Dowling Club, Knights of Columbus and the national associations of Retired Federal Employees and Letter Carriers. He was also a volunteer in the Des Moines public schools.

Surviving are his wife, Leah; a daughter, Sheila FERRING of Des Moines; a son, Michael of Bellevue, Wash.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Dunn's Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service.
