The Ringgold Record, 1882

DIED--At her residence in Mt. Ayr, Nov. 20, 1882, Mrs. Elizabeth S. EWAN, in the 40th year of her age.

The diseased (sic) was born on the 18th of March, 1848, in Clinton county, Ohio. She was married to Christian EWAN, Aug. 8th, 1861, in Highland county, Ohio, and with her husband moved to Ringgold county, Iowa, in 1865, where she has since lived. She was a kind and indulgent parent, a loving wife, and endeared herself to friends and neighbors by her many pleasant ways, and her death is regreted by a large circle of sympathizing friends and her bereaved family. The funeral services of both mother and daughter [Ada Grant EWAN] were conducted by the Elder ANDREWS, pastor of the Baptist Church, from the home of diseased (sic), and her remains were attended to the [Rose Hill] cemetery by a large concourse of sympathizing people. Peace be unto her.
