OBITUARY ~ LOREN DRAKE

Loren DRAKE, 102, of Mount Ayr, passed away August 29, 2011 at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Loren, son of Gertrude MEANOR and Henry DRAKE, was born July 8, 1909 near Mount Ayr, Iowa. He married Velma J.
HAILEY on August 15, 1929 in Brighton, Colorado. Loren was a farmer for 30 years. He later owned & operated
DRAKE'S Grocery in Kellerton for 9 years. Loren attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children: Juanita (Donald) CLOUSE of Massena, Iowa, Harold DRAKE of Sebring, Florida,
Lloyd (Kay) DRAKE of Tingley, Iowa and Tom (Barbara) DRAKE of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; 37
great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Velma; brother Albert DRAKE.
Memorials are to the Tingley Community Building.
Funeral services were held September 1, 2011, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr. Interment was
made at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Services set for Loren Drake
Loren DRAKE, 102, of Mount Ayr passed away August 29, 2011 at Clearview Home. Visitation will be Wednesday
evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home in
Mount Ayr. A complete obituary will appear in next week's edition.

KELLERTON NEWS:
August 29 - The community is saddened to hear of the death of a past resident, Loren DRAKE, who was 102. He
passed away Monday morning. Loren and his wife, Velma, operated the grocery store in Kellerton for several
years. Deepest sympathy is extended his family and friends.
