Loyd A[ugustus]. CORDELL, 68, of Richmond, Calif., formerly of Athelstan, died March 19 of a heart attack while working on property he owned in Rio Vista. Funeral services for Mr. CORDELL were held in Richmond with interment at Berkeley, Calif., March 22.

Mr. CORDELL was owner and operator of Cordells Garage in Richmond for 46 years.

A native of Iowa, reared in Athelstan and graduated from Maloy High School, Mr. Cordell was a 50-year resident of California. He had retired from his automotive repair business a year ago.

Mr. CORDELL was a past president and former treasurer of the Automotive Industries Assoc., of Oakland. He was a member of Richmond Lodge No. 1251 BPOE, the Richmond Rod and Gun Club and the Good Sam Ramblers Club.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine [Dorothy BRAZIL], to whom he was married for 47 years; a son, Richard CORDELL, of El Cerrito, and a sister, Miss Bessie CORDELL of Detroit, Mich.
