NOTICE of DEATH

DIED--Another sad death to be chronicled, in our village, which leaves not only a widow and orphans to mourn, but is lamented
by a whole community of sympathizing friends. It is that of A[lvin]. CARGILL, the enterprising groceryman. He commenced
business in this place about four years ago, and had risen to a prominent place among his fellow merchants. He had been
sick but about three weeks, but it was feared for some time that his sickness was fatal. It occurred on Tuesday evening
and on Wednesday he was interred by his I. O. O. F. brethren [Oak Ridge Cemetery]. Transcription by Sharon R. Becker, 2008
