OBITUARY ~ CECIL JOHN BUSBY

Cecil John BUSBY, son of Thomas B[utler]. and Viola [Angeline] BOOZE BUSBY, was born in Mahaska county, Iowa, on Nov. 20, 1890 and passed away July 30, 1984 at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 10 days.

At an early age the family moved to Missouri, and there he grew to manhood. On November 27, 1912, he was united in marriage to Almeda Fay RUBY. To this union were born 4 children: John of Ft. Collins, Colo.; Ralph [Eldon] of Des Moines, Ia.; Ruth (Mrs. Robert) HUDSON of Waterloo, Ia.; and Bettie [Charlene] (Mrs. W. [illiam] D.) SHAFFER of Boulder, Colo.

He was engaged in farming in the Diagonal and Clearfield communities until his retirement in 1952 when they moved to a home in Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife July 30, 1962. Survivors include the four children: John, Ralph, Ruth and Bettie; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde [Lavern] of Markville, Minn.; three sisters, Nellie (Mrs. Geo.) BRAZZELL of Maywood, Calif., Lela (Mrs. Wm.) GILLIAN of Stillwater, Okla., and Hazel (Mrs. Anthony) TELESCO of Vallejo, Calif.; also four sisters-in-law; other relatives and friends.

He was a man who took great interest and joy in his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Services were held at the Clearfield Methodist church Sunday, Aug. 2, 1964 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Herbert PHILLIPS officiating. Burial was in the Clearfield cemetery.
