OBITUARY - LUCY VIOLA ALLEN

Lucy Viola ALLEN was born December 2, 1916 near Hatfield, Missouri. She was the daughter of Rauben TULL and Minnie Pearl (EVERLY) SMITH TULL. Lucy passed away on November 30, 1999 in Corning, Iowa at the age of 82 years.

Lucy grew up near Hatfield, attending Longbranch country school and graduating from Hatfield high school. On October 9, 1934 she was united in marriage to Troy Lee ALLEN in Bethany, Missouri.

They lived their life in Ringgold county, Iowa, living in the Caledonia area before moving to the Delphos area in 1948. They farmed and raised their family and retired into Redding. Troy passed away on September 8, 1991 and Lucy moved to the Lenox Care Center, Lenox, Iowa in 1998. Lucy was a member of the Redding Assembly of God.

Lucy loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her garden and caring for her flowers. Her cooking was enjoyed by many with fond memories of her homemade egg noodles. She made and shared her many quilts.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Rauben and Minnie TULL; her husband Troy; one grandchild and one great-grandchild as well as her seven brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dean ALLEN of Redding, LaVon MOSS and her husband Eugene of Lenox and Patsy May HASHBERGER and her husband Robert of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one brother Alvin TULL of Creston, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were held at the Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr, Iowa on Saturday, December 4, 1999 with Reverend Michael DRUHL officiating. Nancy SACKETT and Mary WEBB and Margaret BICKERS provided music. Casketbearers were Keith HASHBERGER, Ronald ALLEN, Robert MOSS, Daniel HASHBERGER, Doug PRIVETT, Timothy HASHBERGER, Roger YOUNG and Jeremy BROWNING.

Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
