Judy DOOLITTE attended the STILL dinner on Sunday at Kellerton Community Center. She repored that she had a good time.

Jesse STILL came Saturday morning and helped Grandma and Aunt Jan get everything to the Community Center for the annual STILL dinner. We had a great attendance and many relatives of Leonard and Mary STILL, we had not visited with for years. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the food was outstanding and plentiful. The kids enjoyed having the gymnasium to play in. Our Community Center is a great place to have a get-together, and the price is very reasonable.

We are a Senior Activity Center, but we are here for those people who are needing something to do during the week, who are needing to have friendship and social times and those who just want to have fun! Some are here four times a week for our activities and we are tickled to see them! We know then that the Activity Center serves a purpose for our community and are blessed to be able to do that.

Our small community experienced more than its share of sadness last week. The whole community was shocked and saddened to receive word last Saturday evening that 16-year-old Triston ACKLEy has passed away from an accidental gunshot wound. Triston was a special young man, beloved by all who knew him. Services were held Thursday at the Mount Ayr gymnasium with burial following at the Tingley cemetery.

The whole community was also saddened to hear that Marjorie WERNER had passed away Saturday evening at Health Care Center in Mount Ayr, where she briefly resided following a stroke. Everyone loved Marjorie. What a fine example her life is for anyone! Her services were held Saturday morning at the Methodist church here with burial following at the Tingley cemetery.

Once again more sad news has been received here. Harold BROWN, another long time Tingley community resident until his health forced him to enter Clearview nursing home, passed away Saturday morning. His services have been set for 11 Friday morning at the Christian church here.

    ~ ~ ~ ~

    Thursday, February 12, 2015:

Services for Harold BROWN were held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Christian Church here, burial following at the Tingley Cemetery. Those attending the meal site have many fond memories of Harold. He loved being part of any music taking place here, he and his harmonica. As long as he was able, he served the beverages knowing exactly what everyone wanted. For health reasons, he resided at Clearview Nursing Home at Mount Ayr. He was always especially happy when daughter Joni ROBINSON, brought him to Tingley, and he could be a part of the music here again. We sure will miss him and his visits back.

This sounds almost unbelievable. Seventy yeas of marriage was celebrated by a Tingley couple. Dave and Wilmina JENNINGS, at the meal site Tuesday, February 10. This couple are still able to reside in their own home in Tingley and regularly attend the meal site here. They lived and farmed in the Sand Creek area before retiring to Tingley. Lucky for Tingley, Dave had a bit of advice to share with all couples, "Never go to bed and sleep without resolving any misunderstandings that have occurred between you." Pretty good advice. It's sure worked for them.
Special music for the day was provided by the band. Their members for this day were: their accompanist, Carmene JAMES, plus Bonnie MANDERS, Rose CAMPBELL, Doris OVERHOLTZER, Peggy SKARDA, Darlene MORGAN, Marcia JONES, and Dick and Virginia WALDEN.
Slides of the JENNINGS brought by their daughter were enjoyed throughout the morning. Anyone present that had a special memory of the JENNINGS was encouraged to share it. Some mighty fine ones were shared. The anniversary waltz as danced by George and Naomi HOSFIELD was dedicated to the JENNINGS. Dennis ADKISSON, their son-in-law, was privileged to crown them with special crowns.
Present to share their way was their daughter, Suzanne (Dennis) ADKISSON their pastor Bruce GIESE, several of their church family, and plenty of meal site friends. Congratulations, folks, from the whole group.
Ice cream was a special treat enjoyed provided by their daughter and son-in-law Susanne and Dennis ADKISSON.
