Google quit supporting IE6 - that was not done casually! You're one of a great many legacy installations still in use. Among (many!) other flaws and shortcomings, IE6 does not render modern HTML constructs (like this one) correctly.
Consider downloading a modern, capable (& free!) browser like FoxFire or Opera.
Check the Browser Choice page European law requires Micro$oft make available. Germans are pretty sensible. Even the French can't be wrong *all* the time. 8^)
