continuing growth, advancement and improvement of Pottawattamie
County in Iowa of the United States of America, dedicated with
thanks and gratitude of all former and present residents of
Pottawattamie County, whose life histories are here preserved,
to the officers of the Pottawattamie County History Book Committee,
to the publicity chairpersons of each community, to the press and
radio, to the typists for many hours of labor and a very special
