According to the 1870 census in Jefferson County, Kansas, the 1880, 1885, and 1895 census in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, a summary of the life of John Bush is that he was born in Illinois between 1795 & 1800. He married a woman by the name of Mary, born Indiana, and had at least seven kids: Jane, born 1857 in MO, Rosetta, born 1862 in MO, Margaret, born 1863 in Iowa, Barbra A., born 1865 in MO, Ellen, born 1865 in MO, John W., born 1868 in KS, and James C., born 1869 in KS, and David, born 1873 in KS. John Bush was listed as disabled in the 1880 census.

According to Ancestry.com Margaret Smith was born March 10, 1800 in Germany, married Christian Clapper on Jan 23, 1849 and died in Neola, Pottawattamie County, Iowa Feb 11, 1898

The 1895 Iowa census in Council Bluffs shows Maria Clay, age 90, born Missouri, housekeeping for the family of Ida Davis. Maria’s gravestone in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Council Bluffs, gives her dates 1828-1901.  The Iowa, County Death Records on FamilySearch.org lists Mrs. Maria Clay, died Feb 4, 1901 in Council Bluffs, age 83 (born about 1818).

In the 1895 Iowa census Thomas Kirley is living in a convent, age 91 (born about 1804), single, born in Ireland

John Montgomery, age 104 in 1895, residence Council Bluffs, born in Ireland
The 1895 Iowa census shows John Montgomery, age 104, born Ireland, retired, Catholic, with wife, Bridget Montgomery, age 68, born Ireland, keeping house.  The 1880 Federal census shows John Montgomery in Council Bluffs, age 89, born Scotland, occupation farmer, with wife, Margaret, age 60, born Ireland, and son, John, age 20, born Illinois.

Paddy Rohan, age 95 in 1895, residence Neola, born in Ireland
From the census records, 1880, 1885, 1895, and 1900, all in Pottawattamie County, Patrick Rohan was born in Ireland between 1797 and 1805.  In all these census he was living with the family of Daniel Flynn and his wife, Ellen (Looby) Flinn, also born in Ireland, but no relationship is listed other than boarder. In these census Patrick was a widow who came to the U.S. in 1839, naturalized, occupation farmer, and in the 1880 census was listed as a pauper.

Henry Ronneau, age 91 in 1895, residence Hardin Township, born in Germany
Henry Ronneau was born in Holstein, Germany in 1804 and came to the U.S. in 1854 with his wife and three children: Doris, John, and Emma.  Their destination was Iowa and they showed up in the 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1885 census in Mills County with only the 1895 census in Hardin Township of Pottawattamie County.  From at least 1880 on, Henry and his wife, Christina, lived with their son, John.

Pleasant Taylor, age 90 in 1895, residence Washington Township, born in Tennessee
From census reports of 1850-1895 in Pottawattamie County, IA as well as Find A Grave, Pleasant Taylor was born about 1805 in Tennessee.  He married Jane Allison (born PA) and had: James (1830), Mary (1832), Jackson (1835), Pleasant (1839), and William (1841).  His wife, Jane, was born in 1802 and died in 1868.  Pleasant married again on May 9, 1875 to Sidney A. Webb.  They had Francis Benton Taylor (1873). Pleasant died on Feb 22, 1896 and was buried in Fairview Pioneer Cemetery, Treynor, Pottawattamie County, IA.  His photo is on Find A Grave, memorial #22794236.

Susan Yocomb, age 90, residence Norwalk Township, born in Pennsylvania
From Ancestry,com, Susannah M. Crouse was born Nov 5, 1807 in Montgomery County, PA.  She married William Yocum on Aug 1, 1835 in Richland County, OH and died on Feb 28, 1896 in Downsville, Pottawattamie County, IA. William & Susannah had six children: Susannah “Anna” (1835 OH), Rachel Irene (1837 OH), Nancy, Nephi (1840 IL), Esther (1844 IL), and Joseph (1846 IA).
