John Green Jones Cemetery
Rockford Township

Inside John Green Jones Cemetery is an abandoned cemetery on the Rief Brothers farm, Section 14, Rockford Township. It is north of Honey Creek on the top of a bluff east of Highway 183. To gain access to the cemetery, ask permission of & directions to the cemetery of any of the Rief family members. The cemetery was read April 6, 2002 by Vicki King. The rows are numbered west to east and the graves were read south to north. Family notes were provided by David Martens.

It is known there are other unmarked graves in this cemetery, but no other information is available.

MES North end of the row. Footstone with "MES" leaning against the last tree in the row. Possibly belongs on the last unmarked grave and sunken grave in this row. (Row 5)
Unknown #1 North end of Row 3; unmarked and sunken grave betweenthe tree and the fence. A footstone is by the tree. The closest grave is John Green Jones, Jr. (Row 3)
Unknown #2 Base of headstone in place beside Gracie Jones' grave but the headstone is gone. (Row 4)
Unknown #3 Directly east of Viola Jones grave and in a group with Viola & John L. Jones' graves. Grave is unmarked and sunken. (Row 5)
Unknown #4 North end of the row. Grave is sunken. Has a footstone in line with the tree where the headstone would have been. (Row 5)
