James CONNETT and Sarah HULSE (her maiden name was REED) were in the 1850 Polk Co IA census. The HULSE children names are Rith & Orpha. Orpha married Solomon PERKINS in Dec 1849 in the home of James CONNETT, Polk Co IA. Did they have children? The children born to James and Sarah CONNETT were: Oliver, Mary, William & Catherine. Does anyone know what happened to these people? Did they stay in IA? Will be happy to exchange any information. Thanks. Ardith Haas.

I am seeking any infomation on my G-Grandmother Mary Francis (CRAVEN) THORNTON b. 13 Mar 1862 in Ankeny, Polk Co., IA. Her first husband was one Willis CRAVEN and he lived only a short time after the marriage, so they had no children. She then married my G-Grandfather George Clinton RABER on 5 March 1889 in Adel, Dallas Co., IA. She died 11 Feb 1932 in Kearney, Buffalo Co., NE. They had a total of 6 children, all born in NE. I am extremely interested in who her parents were. I have the names John Spencer THORNTON and Mary LEWIS, and that is the only thing I have on them. So far I am at virtual dead-end with this family so anything I could find out would be very appreciated. I thank you in advance.

I'm looking for information on and ancestors of Frederic Ernest PARRISH - born 1880's probably in Nebraska; died c.1939 in Des Moines, Iowa and buried in the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. He married Bertha Maud GERMAN in Meade or Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived in Lincoln, Nebraska before moving to Des Moines, Iowa. Only child was Donald Frederic PARRISH, 1910-1991. Both Frederic Ernest and his son Donald Frederic were graphic artists. Donald designed a number of public signs, some of which I'm told still exist in Des Moines. He also designed the original 7-Up logo. Besides being an artist, Donald was an accomplished musician who played with a number of the big bands in the 1940s. He and former president Ronald Reagan were friends, both in Des Moines and later in Los Angeles, California. It's my understanding that PARRISH was not the original family name. Somewhere along the line someone became angry with his family and changed his name to PARRISH. It was originally an unknown Swedish name.
