Note: I find only 1 reference to Benjamin Brown, in "The History of Pocahontas County" by Flickinger. It says "In 1871, James W Taylor located south of the lake . . .and was suceeded by Benjamin Brown, who two years later sold out . . ." No on-line references are found for him in the county.

(Cemetery records of Calhoun Co IA). His wife was Lucretia Boydstrom, who was born January 31, 1852 and died September 18, 1917 in Pomeroy, Butler Township, Calhoun Co. They were married October 17, 1871. (marriage records Iowa 1851-1900). Their children were Charles bn abt 1872, William bn abt 1874 and Harry bn abt 1876. He may be related to Elwood Marple.
