Population, 1,100. A prosperous town on the C. & N. W. and C. R. I . P. Rys, in Swanlake township, Pocahontas county, 12 mile n. w. of Pocahontas, the judicial seat. It has Campbellite, Catholic, German Lutheran, Methodist and Swedish Lutheran churches, a public school, water works, 2 banks, and a weekly newspaper, the Pocahontas County Sun.
