ANNUAL FUN FESTIVAL FOR THE TEACHERS

The teachers of Plymouth County will hold their annual Fun Festival the evening of Wednesday, September 15, at the LeMars Country Club.  Following the 6:30 dinner thre will be a program and a social hour.  Dr. Mark W. Delzell of the University of South Dakota will be the guest speaker.  Special music numbers will be presented.  All teachers of rural, town, and consolidated schools are invited to the Fun Festival, and are requested to make their dinner reservations at once with their superintendents.

The annual get-together of Plymouth County teachers will be the first event of the 1954-55 school year sponsored by the Plymouth County Education Association.  The officers of the Plymouth County Education Council for this are as follows:  Dr. Carl Lang, Westmar College, LeMars, president; Supt. O. L. Scranton, Akron, first vice-president; Mrs. Herman VanderWell, LeMars, second vice-president; ______ Reuwsaat, LeMars, secretary; and Mrs. Cathleen Wessling, Kingsley, treasurer.

Fifty Plymouth County rural schools and three two-room schools opened Monday, August, 30.  This is five less schools than were open in the county last year.  The teaching staff in these fifty-six positions consists of the following:
