Mr. Coder moved to Frontier County, Neb., in 1885 and returned on 1899, to Page Co. Iowa where he has resided since excepting three years spent on his homestead in northwestern Nebraska.

He was a man of courage and of kind disposition, a kind and affectionate husband and father.

During his last hours his suffering was intense, and as he neared his eternal home he was conscious of the fact that he was soon to depart this life, and he expressed a desire to go praying that God would take him soon and saying "I am ready to go."

Those who mourn his departure are his devoted wife and children: Inda of Shambaugh, Jessie Gillam of Shenandoah, Fred of Shambaugh Iowa, Frank of Burlington Junction, Missouri, and Howard of Merriman, Nebraska, a half brother George Coder of Cambridge, Nebraska, one half sister, Mrs. Belle Arneil, of Arizona, also twelve grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
