Young, Clella Grace Hotze Robinson, age 86 of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Clarinda, Iowa, passed into eternity with Jesus Friday, April 21, 2006, at her home in Council Bluffs, Iowa after a brief illness.

Clella was born in Carson, Iowa to the late Ray and Hazel (Smith) Hotze on August 19, 1919. She graduated from Carson High School in 1937. She married Richard (Dick) Robinson on July 27, 1940. During the 1940's Dick and Clella lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico while Dick did war time construction. In the 1950's Dick and Clella managed the first trailer court at the airport in Clarinda. Clella was a homemaker and active in many organizations including Semper Fidelis, Rebecca Lodge and Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Clella briefly worked for the Green Stamp Store and Grahams in the 1970's. Clella enjoyed spending time with friends. You could find her playing cards whenever the opportunity arose. Clella was an active member at Calvary Baptist Church until she moved to Council Bluffs in February 2005. Clella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Clella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Robinson; daughter, Julie; brothers, Theo and Cleo and husband, Frank Young.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Newman and her husband Roger of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandson, Sean Humble and friend, Tandy Adams of Kansas City, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Amber, Chelsea and Dru Humble of Las Vegas, Nevada and Andrew Humble of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters, Neuonia Timberman of Oakland, Iowa and Maralyn Gray of Clarinda, Iowa and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation with the family was held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2006 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Funeral services were held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home with Pastors Bob Smith and Dan Kachikis officiating. Interment was at North Grove Cemetery, northeast of Clarinda, Iowa with a lunch to following at Calvary Baptist Church, Clarinda, Iowa. Celebration of Life Service will be held at Midlands Evangelical Free Church, Council Bluffs, Iowa 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 27, 2006 with a luncheon to follow. Young, J. Frank was born August 27, 1919, southeast of Clarinda, Iowa, to Wilbur Harland Young and Anna (Kincheloe) Young and he died Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Westridge Care and Rehab Center, Clarinda.

He attended Clarinda High School.

Frank was united in marriage to Helen G. Hughes July 30, 1942. Helen preceded him in death August 22, 1982. Frank was a lifelong farmer and resident of rural Clarinda. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outside.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; brother, Leonard Vane Young and sister, Alice Sophia Young.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl L. Young of Clarinda; nephew, Kenneth Hughes and wife Donna of Twin Falls, Idaho; nephew Mike Hughes and wife Dee of Clarinda; niece, Brenda Hughes of Henderson, Nev.; Kincheloe cousins, Alice Rasmussen of San Carlos, Calif., Margaret Hibbs of Iowa City, Iowa, Tom Kincheloe of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and great nieces and nephews.


 
Yaple,  Helen Grace Yance was born August 4, 1921 in Page County, Iowa to Homer M. and Alice (Travis) Yance. Helen passed away Monday morning, December 12, 2005 at Goldenrod Manor, Clarinda, IA following an eleven year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 84 years of age.

Helen graduated Blanchard High School. On May 25, 1940 she was married to George Yaple. The couple farmed west of Braddyville, IA. She was a member of the Braddyville Methodist Church, WSCS, and Women's Bridge Club.

She was an excellent seamstress, gardener and cook. Many friends and family shared her garden largess. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jim, brothers Joe and Jim Yance, sister Winifred Bryan, and granddaughter Constance.

Helen is survived by children: Mary Brady of Brownsville, TX, Jon Yaple and wife Janet of Burlington Junction, MO, David Yaple of Braddyville, Ia, Warren Yaple of Council Bluffs, Ia, Carol Yaple of Clarinda, IA; daughter-in-law Valerie Yaple of Toledo, OH, sister Jean Williams of Clarinda and June Smith of California; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her grandchildren have fond memories of grandma's house and cooking.

Memorial services were held Thursday, Dec 15, 2005 at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel, Clarinda, with Calvin Hull officiating. Memorials are suggested to Braddyville Fire & Rescue or Braddyville Methodist Church. Burial was at Braddyville Cemetery. Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.


 
Young, Vollie Allen - Memorial services for Vollie Allen Young, age 65, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly from Clarinda, who passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 5, 2009 at his home, were held Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Carter Lake, Iowa with Pastor Lowell Schaaf officiating. Visitation with the family was held prior to the service. Cutler-O'Neil Funeral Home of Council Bluffs was in charge of the arrangements. A private family burial followed the service.

Vollie Allen Young was born January 25, 1944, at Clarinda, Iowa, to Carl and Mary (Maxwell) Young. He was one of seven children. Vollie was united in marriage on March 11, 1972 to Lorraine Paul in Carter Lake, Iowa. To this union they had one daughter, Mary.

Vollie's greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandkids and his hobby of woodworking projects.
Vollie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl Young Jr.; sister, Carolyn (Young) Bain; grandfather, Allen Maxwell and in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Reed of Corning, Iowa.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lorraine Young of Council Bluffs; daughter Mary Ellison and husband Jim of Council Bluffs; sister Meryle Young of Council Bluffs, Carlene Stevens of Clarinda; Nancy Hakam of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, in-laws, and many friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
