Davey, Glen Arnold - Glen
Arnold Davey, son of Leonard
and Hazel Campbell Davey, was born on October 16, 1919 at Shenandoah,
Iowa and passed way after several months of declining health at Hot
Springs, Arkansas on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at the age of 86.
He attended and graduated from Shenandoah High School. Glen was an
independent trucker. On December 24, 1966, Glen was united in marriage
to Olive “Kitty” Lyon in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in
Casper, Wyoming for over 20 years. They moved back to Shenandoah in
1988. In later years, he worked for Central Surveys. Glen was a member
of Company E and was a World War II Veteran. He was also a longtime
member of the American Legion Post #88, the Elks Lodge # 1122 where he
had served as their Chaplain and was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Shenandoah.
Preceding Glen in death were his parents; his wife Olive (Kitty) J.
Davey; and brother John Davey and a nephew Paul Waldron. Survivors
include his two sisters, Wilma Turner of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas,
and Hazel Waldron of Shenandoah, Iowa; three nieces, Stella Epperson,
Carolyn Jackson, and Joan Nelson; nephews, Robert and James Davey;
Merle, Gerald, Darrell, Donald and Jerry Waldron; great nieces and
nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at
10:00 a.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Words of comfort
were given by the Rev. Jim Gubser. Military rites were accorded by the
Shenandoah American Legion Post #88. The Hackett-Livingston Funeral
Home in Shenandoah was in charge of the arrangements. Remembrances and
