| Damon, Artie Thompson,
daughter of Joseph and Tildy Thompson was born in Page County, Iowa May
3, 1861 and died Feb 7, 1931. She was married to Frank Everett Damon Oct
6, 1881. To them were born 7 children, four of whom died in infancy, the
others being: Esther Kelley of Clearmont, Iowa, Grover Damon of Clearmont,
Iowa and Charlie Damon of Longmont, Colorado. Her husband was buried just
the week before. She was of a family of six children, two of whom passed
away several years ago, three brothers survive, F.M. Thompson of Clearmont,
Iowa, L.T. Thompson of St Joseph, Missouri, and John Thompson of Clarinda,
Iowa. She became a member of the Church of Christ at Braddyville 25 years

| Drake, William Sheperson,
died at his home in this city, Dec 8, 1901 in the sixty-first year of his
age. He was born Dec 17, 1840. He had been long a resident of Clarinda and
his demise is mourned by numerous friends. The funeral was held Tuesday,
the 10th inst., at the home, corner of Tenth and Water streets, conducted

Drake, Maria Belson. Formerly
a resident of England, Mrs Maria Belson Drake came to Clarinda in the
year 1884. She was married to William Sheperson Drake in the year 1862,
and to this union were born nine children, three of whom died in infancy.
Those surviving are William Drake of Hotchkiss, Colo., Mrs Ed Middaugh
of Omaha, Nebr., Harry and John Drake of Clarinda, Mrs Mary Deal of Riverfalls,
Wisc., and Guy Drake of Polson, Mont.
The husband passed away December 8, 1902.
Mrs Drake was a life long member of the protestant Episcopal Church of
England, but has been prevented from attending church in Clarinda the
past few years on account of poor health.
The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the late home
at 10th and Stuart Street, with Dr A.T. Bishop pastor of the Methodist
church officiating. Interment was made in Clarinda cemetery beside the
