Crawford, Lizzie Leora Alexander - Howard Hensley handed this office the following obituary of his niece, Mrs Lizzie Crawaford, taken from the New Market Herald:

When nine years of age she came with her parents to Taylor county, Iowa, and on September 11, 1878, was united in marriage to Samuel J. Crawford. to this union twelve children were born, six boys and six girls. Her husband passed away August 2, 1921. Also three daughters have passed away: Myrtle, January 5, 1895; Mae, February 19th, 1899; and Mrs Ruby Ingram, May 18, 1925. When young, she accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the Baptist church, which she loved so well. Most of her life has been spent in this neighborhood, having lived at the old home for almost 55 years. She was greatly devoted to her husband and the care of the large family given her, but with the many problems that necessarily belong with raising such a large family, she was always ready to do her full share for the welfare of the community in which she lived. She was a member of the Valley Sunshine Club, which she greatly enjoyed. Although her passing came suddenly and peacefully, she has been in failing health for several months and has often said to those around her she was ready to go when her Savior called her.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, November7, from the New Market Baptist church in charge of Rev Dice and burial was made in Memory cemetery.
The sincere sympathy of the community is extended to the sorrowing ones in their bereavement. BEDFORD TIMES REPUBLICAN, Bedford, Iowa, Nov 22, 1928

Fleenor, Ezra Marion - "Like a sunset of the northern clime, when twilight lingers in the summer time and fades at last into the silent night," the spirit of E.M. Fleenor went from earth to the Heavenly Home January 19, 1937, after an illness of over a year.
Ezra Marion Fleenor was born in Henry county, Iowa, June 27, 1860, the son of Mr and Mrs George Fleenor. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Page county and, except for 5 years spent in Nebraska, he has made it his home ever since.
February 27, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Jane Williams.
He leaves his devoted wife and three children, Ralph W., who on account of sudden sickness could not attend the service; Winifred (deceased), Mrs Gerene Beavers, Mrs Bertha Reed and five grandchildren. Three sisters also survive. They are: Mrs Betty J. Moffitt of Doniphan, Nebr, Mrs Catherine Archibald and Mrs Maude Shepherd of Clarinda.
As a neighbor and friend he spared no strength in doing the little yet needful things, which add so much to the comfort of the home where sickness or sorrow has come.
Mr Fleenor was a charter member of the Rose Hill United Brethren church. He was always willing to bear his share of the burden of his church in its various capacities; as a member of the official board, as the superintendent of the Sunday school, as a teacher, or in any other way. He never shirked his duty and was faithful in attendance at its worship services.
Their home was a "haven of refuge" to early circuit riders of the church; and a home to all who needed a friend.
After locating in Clarinda 16 years ago, he transferred his membership and loyalty to the Methodist Episcopal church where he continued his faithful service to God as long as health permitted.
During his long illness he bore his sufferings patiently. He liked folks and his many friends were always heartily welcomed to his sick room.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev W.H. Meredith at the Clarinda Methodist church Thursday, 2:30 pm, January 21. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs Forrest Davidson, Miss June Anderson, Claude Annan and Irvin Spunaugle, with Mrs Helen Hall Hoskinson as organist. Pallbearers were close friends of the fine neighbor, including Victor Crosthwaite, Robert McCurdy, George Smith, Charles Reed, Fred Grebert and Stuart Smith. Those assisting with the flowers were Mrs George Smith, Mrs V.A. Crosthwait and Mrs Maude Whitnah. Burial was in Clarinda cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Jan 25, 1937

Ingram, Ruby Elizabeth Crawford - A terrible accident happened this Monday morning, on the John Dougherty farm nine miles southwest of Clarinda, when Mrs Carroll Ingram lost her life, from being burned in the barn that caught afire.
Mr Ingram was in the field at the time, quite a ways distant, when the barn was found to be afire. Mrs Ingram from the house seems to have discovered the blaze, and went into the barn to release the horse inside the barn and ---. In doing this she lost her life. Mr Ingram, coming from the field, when he saw the fire, was unable to do anything to extinguish the blaze, the fire having gained too great headway, and burned the barn entirely down. The horse which she tried to release got out of the barn, but was so badly burned it had to be shot.
The remains of the faithful wife who did her best under the circumstances was found in the ruins of the barn after the fire had subsided. Mr Ingram, when he came in from the field, had no knowledge of his wife having been caught in the fire, until going into the house, he discovered their 8 months old baby there alone, and then made search in the ruins.
The Ingram family have lived on the farm since March 1st, 1924. Mrs Ingram's name before marriage was Ruby Crawford. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, May 18, 1925
One of the largest attended funerals in years was that held Wednesday afternoon from the Carroll Ingram home southeast of town, where she had lost her life when the barn burned two days before. The Christian minister from New Market, Rev Lodwig, conducted the last sad funeral rites at the home, the funeral services of cars, extending more than a mile and a half down the road, then making its way to Old Memory cemetery, where interment was made. The flowers at the funeral showed the sympathy which the family have in their many friends. From faraway Spokane, Wash, came a letter written from a retired Methodist minister 84 years of age, written the day following the accident, of which he had read in the daily papers and sent some Bible references as a means of lending comfort to the friends in their bereavement.
The following obituary was read at the final services
Ruby Elizabeth Crawford, daughter of Samuel and Lizzie Crawford, was born in Taylor County, Iowa, October 22, 1899, and departed this life May 18, 1925, age 25 years, 6 months and 26 days.
February 8, 1922, she was united in marriage to Carroll Ingram. To this union, one child was born--a daughter Chrystal Lavaun, now almost nine months old. Mrs Ingram's home has always been near New Market, where she was born and reared to womanhood. She was known and respected by every one. She was a kind and loving mother and wife, a good neighbor always ready to extend a helping hand to any who needed assistance. Her life was filled with good deeds and kindly acts and it can be truthfully said the world has been made better by her having lived. Although she never united with the church, she was a firm believer in Christianity, and her trust was placed in her Redeemer. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, baby, mother, three sisters, Mrs Iowa Catuska, of Bedford, Mrs Ella Hills, Linneus, Mo, and Mrs Anna Genther, Linneus, Mo, and six brothers, Oren, Dennis, George, and Howard of New Market, Ledge of Bedford and Cecil of Clarinda, besides a number of neighbors and friends. Her father and two sisters have preceded her in death.
Although she is gone from our sight, we will not forget her sweet lessons of love and purity, which comfort our hearts with the thought that though she cannot return to us we may go to her and abide in the land where there is no departing and sorrow. We look to him who doeth all things well, "Thy way; Thy will be done." CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, May 25, 1925

Pace, Nancy Ann Davison - Nancy Ann Davison was born February 17, 1842 on the old Hardin Davison homestead in Page Co, five miles east of Clarinda, Iowa and died at the place of her birth, May 1, 1928 at the age of 76 years, two months and fourteen days. She had been in poor health for several years, but seemed to be much better during the past winter. While her friends knew she was far from well, her death from heart failure came suddenly and unexpectedly.
She lived with her parents at the old homestead until she was 17 at which age she was united in marriage with Edward A. Pace, August 19, 1869. After their marriage they lived some years in Clarinda, Iowa, then they moved to Pitkin, Colorado where they lived three years when they returned to New Market where they continued to live until the death of her husband, June 20, 1926. After his departure she lived at the old home until last November when she went to spend the winter at the home of her daughter, Mrs Ersa Foster, at the home of her birth.
To this union six children were born: Mrs Fred C. Foster, who lives on the old "Davison Homestead"; Charles H. and Asa B. Pace of Los Angeles, California. The other children Mrs Alice Love, Mrs Myrtle Valentine and Harley T. Pace preceeded her into the great beyond. Beside these there are three grandchildren: Ellen and Katherine Pace of Los Angeles, Calif, and Frank E. Valentine of Spencer, Ia, who came into their home when he was two years of age and lived with them until manhood.
Mrs Pace had five brothers and three sisters of whom, Mrs Dica Wamsley of Denver, Colo, Mrs Eva Smith of Omaha, Nebr, Jackson Davison of North Park, Colo, Isaac Davison of Clarinda and E.R. Davison of New Market, Ia are living to mourn her loss. The deceased are Josiah and Jeptha Davison and Isabel Pace.
Mrs Pace was the second child of Hardin and Harriet Davison and laid down this life where she took it up. It was here she grew to womanhood. It was here she confessed her Savior and became a member of the Christian Church. It was here she was married, and now after a life of active service she returned to the place of her birth to give back to her maker the soul that was given into her keeping.
Mrs Pace was a woman of more than ordinary ability and took an active part in church and social work in the community in which she lived until failing health forbade active service.
She was a good neighbor, ever ready to respond to the call of those in distress. She was a kind mother and a devoted wife. Her life was one of sacrifice for those she loved and to Christian duty--charitable, kind and thoughtful. She will be missed. Her work here is finished and she has been called to give an account of her stewardship. May she hear from the great Master the Welcome words, "Well done, faithful servant thou hast been faithful over a few things I will make thee ruler over many."
Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter where she died, Thursday, May 3rd, conducted by Rev Hall of the Christian Church at Clarinda assisted by Rev Grubbs of New Market. Interment in the Memory cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, May 10, 1928
