The editor of this paper received a kind letter from England this week from relatives of the late Arthur Bellfield, in which they convey their sincere appreciation to the people of New Market for their kindness during the last illness and death of Mr Bellfield. The letter is self explanatory, and we are sure the many friends of the deceased will read it with a feeling of satisfaction that they were instrumental in helping to lighten the load of those far-off loved ones in England. The letter in full follows:

January 31st, 1932, 45 Garden Street, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, Yorkshire, England

The Editor, "New Market Herald" New Market, Taylor County, Iowa, USA

Dear Sir:

I am writing this on behalf of my mother, Mrs Phebe Tunnicliffe, of Mirfield, Yorkshire, England. She has received from Mrs John Pullan of your home town, a copy of your excellent newspaper dated Dec 3rd, containing a sympathetic and descriptive account of the passing away and interment of her brother, Mr Arthur Bellfield, at the home of Mrs John Pullan.

He was the last of her brothers, so you can guess how deeply she mourns his loss, especially as she had not seen him since he was last in England in 1900. She had been looking forward to seeing him again if he had found it possible to make the journey across the Atlantic.

She was proud to see the respect in which he was held by the members of your community and wishes, through the medium of your columns, to thank the ministers, miners, members of the I.O.O.F. lodge and all who attended the last rites, for their respectful attendance and also for the beautiful floral tributes.

Finally she wishes to tender her thanks for the expressions of sincere sympathy extended to her by the people of New Market in the columns of your paper of Dec 3rd.

To all these thanks, may I add my own, as the nephew of the deceased, whom I can only faintly remember, but whom I know as being a good, honest and upright man.

With best wishes to you and your staff and all the people of New Market for 1932 and continued success to your paper.

Yours sincerely, John Tunnicliffe

P.S. My mother has written personally to Mrs Pullan thanking her for her care of Mr Bellfield in his last hours and for her supervision of his interment. NEW MARKET HERALD, New Market, Iowa, Feb 18, 1932
