Plessis is north of Highway 18 at 2851 Tanager Ave, northwest of Hartley

Plessis was first platted as Cyreno, by Gustav Wells, April 3, 1900, but there was another town by that name in Iowa so it was later changed.
The old Burlington, Cedar Rapids & Northern railway (now the Rock Island route) ran diagonally through the northeastern portion of O'Brien County.
There was a small hamlet for a station point, called Plessis, which was the only trading point in Lincoln township. It is an unincorporated community.
Plessis had 2 churches (Methodist and Presbyterian) and a dance hall, blacksmith shop, and grocery store. The Post Office was closed in 1920.
Right now (2019) there is just the Plessis Elevator operated by Hartog Elevator of Sanborn, and one house.
