Friends   School

Mapleside is a Friends (Quaker) Community Located 5 1/2 miles south
of Primghar or 3 miles east and one mile north of Paullina on US Hwy 59.
Due to declining enrollment, the school closed in 1923.

Miss Edith Newton was Principal and Miss Dorcas Ramsey was assistant.
There were 35 pupils

Edith Newlin and Dorcas Ramsey were teachers.
Nearly 30 pupils

1911
Walter Hampton was the new Principal
He taught for two years before becoming a farmer.
Miss Dorcas Ramsey was assistant.
There were 37 pupils from 1st primary to first year of high school work.
