ORGANIZE LOCAL BRANCH OF AMERICAN LEGION

At a meeting held last Friday evening at the gymnasium by the local returned soldiers and sailors a local branch of the American Legion was organized. There were twenty-two present who became charter members. The following are the officers elected: Post Commander, Otto J. Strampe; Post Vice Commander, John Loucks; Post Adjutant, H.C. Lage; Post Financial Officer, Walter Schuenhoff; and Post Historian, Ed Eshelman.

The branch will be known as the West Post, in honor of Russell West who was the only local boy to lose his life in battle. A membership fee of one dollar is charged for membership fee. Anyone eligible to membership can become a member by handing thier application to any present member.

There are enough men eligible in this community to form a large strong post, and they should all associate themselves in the organization for their mutual benefit.
