Obituary of John Whalen
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, June 13, at the Catholic church in Ara, Minn., for John Whalen who passed away at the hospital in Fargo, N. Dak., after a lingering illness. Services were in charge of Father V. Miller and interment made at Ada, Minn.
Surviving are his widow and daughters, Catherine, Mrs. Patry of Ada, and Mary Ann at home and sons John now at home after receiving a medical discharge from the army and Francis also at home and Jim in the U. S. Service serving somewhere in the Pacific. There are also three grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and four sisters. Transcribed by Alan Nicholson
