Services Held For Primghar Man at Presho, S. D.

Marvin L. Walker of Primghar, son of Albert L. and Loella L. Walker, of Presho, South Dakota, passed away Friday morning, July 15, 1949. He was born in Lyman County, South Dakota, October 26, 1906. He spent the early part of his life in that vicinity, later moving to Primghar, where he has since made his home.

Three years were spent with the Armed Forces in the Burma, China theatre. He was awarded the bronze star for this campaign. He was a member of the American Legion Post, No. 36, of Primghar.

A fine citizen, well liked by all who knew him, he leaves to mourn his passing, his father A. L. Walker and brother, Kenneth, both of Presho, S. D.; four sisters, Celia Walker and Mrs. Vivian Williams of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. E. J. Nielsen of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. V. Farnias of San Antonio, Texas, and a host of friends and many other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Whalley at the Presho, S. D. Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon. Full Military honors were accorded him at the Presho Cemetery. The Sorensen Funeral Home was in charge of the services. Pallbearers were: Messrs. Herman Diehm, Lee Roberts, Beryl Trac, all of Presho, S. D., and Roy Hardin, Frank Ahrens and William Koch of Primghar.

Those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Henke and Hellen Tracy, all of Presho, and Roy and Mrs. R. W. Walker of Paullina, Iowa; Irving Warren of Sioux Falls, S. D.; Mae Dorothy, Bakewell, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hardin, Primghar, Iowa; Mrs. Helen Christian and son Norman, and Miss Iola Schuman of Hartley, Iowa; William Koch and Frank Ahrens of Primghar, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Nielsen and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Nielsen of Winner, S. Dak.
