Funeral services were held in Sioux City, Friday, for Pfc. William Francis McGinty, 21, 4316 Polk Street, Sioux City, brother of Mrs. Willis Oostenbrug of Sanborn. Pfc. McGinty met his death in a traffic accident at Minneapolis, Minn., Tuesday, August 2.
He was stationed with the armed forces at Sparta, Wis., at the time of the fatal accident. He was born March 16, 1928, in Sioux City. He served in the Navy during World War II and enlisted in the army in October 1947.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ida McGinty; two brothers, John and Richard; three step-brothers, Clarence Roepke, Arthur and Ronald all of Sioux City and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Oostenbrug of Sanborn, Mrs. Evelyn Warner of Dakota City, Neb., Mrs. Beverly Waechter of South Sioux City, and Miss Ida May of Sioux City.
The body was taken by escort to the Anderson funeral home at Sioux City early Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Oostenbrug went to Sioux City Wednesday.
