Lloyd William Lund, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Lund, was born on October 29, 1922 at Galva, Iowa. He entered into eternal rest on October 20, 1949 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa, at the age of 26 years, 11 months and 21 days.
He attended public school at Galva, Iowa, and was graduated from Gaza high school in 1940. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran church of Sutherland, Ia., having been confirmed there in 1947.
On July 6, 1946 he was united in holy wedlock to Delilah Fischer at Bethel Lutheran Church at Sutherland. They have lived on a farm near Primghar for about a year and a half, and it was in an accident near his home that he incurred the injuries which resulted in his death.
During the war Lloyd served in the United States Army, with the 8th air force, distinguishing himself with a fine record of service in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Campaigns. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
A brother and sister preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Delilah, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Lund of Sutherland, one brother, Eugene of Sutherland, and 2 sisters, Ruth (Mrs. W. C. Kramer) of Sutherland, and Eileen (Mrs. L. B. Krull) of Los Angeles, Calif., besides many other relatives and friends.
