Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, July 1, at the Miller Funeral home in Sioux Falls for Orville Aurand who lost his life when his car overturned near Larchwood shortly after midnight Saturday morning. The body will be brought here and services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Trinity Evangelical church with Rev. Bruno Romanowski in charge. Interment will be in Pleasant View cemetery at Hartley.
Orville was graduated from the Hartley high school, for a time he was employed here as salesman at the Thorne garage and then he started working as salesman at the Dodge-Plymouth Agency in Sioux Falls where he remained until he entered the service of his country as a transport pilot. He was a lieutenant in the airforce when he received his discharge after almost three years service.
Since that time, he has been employed as car salesman in Sioux Falls. He and his fiancé, Miss Margery Jackson of Sioux Falls, S. D., had set Sept. 12, Orville's 30th birthday, for their wedding. Miss Jackson was uninjured in the accident which occurred when the car hit loose gravel going around a curve.
He is survived by his father, W. C. Aurand of Nebr., and his sister Mrs. Freeman Rost of Hartley. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Rost, Fred Rost and Seib Johnson left early Saturday morning for Sioux Falls.
