DEATH OF ANTONE DAHL
Antone Dahl died at Camp Dodge, Saturday, October 12th, [1918].
The cause of death was Spanish flu. The body arrived in Paullina on Wednesday after a delay. The interment will be in Liberty cemetery, in Cherokee County.
The deceased is a young man who came to this country five years ago this fall from Heisingland, Sweden, where his father resides, his mother having preceded him in ideath. He had just reached maturity the past summer, when he enlisted in the truck division as a driver. He was assigned to the training department at Ames, where he went in August. He has no other relatives in this country. In the last five years he has lived in this community he has been employed as a farm hand among his friends in the Swedish settlement, south of town. He was a member of the Swedish Free Mission church.
Anntone Dahl made the supreme sacrifice for the land of his adoption. Though without blood relatives in the country his adopted Uncle Sam will number his among his honored dead who chose to give all that is mortal for the maintenance of the highest ideals yet conceived by man, Peace to his remains and honor to his memory.
