THE WHITE PIGEON INSURANCE ASSOCIATION

Was organized in what is known as the White Pigeon School House in the year 1872. The first officers of the association were: Thomas H. Fishburn, President; Joseph Weaver, Vice President; T. P. Furst, Secretary; and Samuel Wildasin, Treasurer. The White Pigeon Insurance Association has been quite an asset to the community. It is at present in a very good financial condition. The present officers are: August Gettert, President; A. J. Hinkhouse, Vice President; John H. Maurer, Secretary and Treasurer. It has a board of thirteen directors. The location of the secretary'e office has been in various places. They built a commodious office building in 1940, which is well equipped with plenty of vault space, with director's room, and secretary's office, and a nice lobby for patrons. The White Pigeon has been an asset to the community as well as the town.
