WILTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The west part of the school building was built in 1875. Originally it had a mansard roof, but when the addition was built on to the east, the mansard roof was removed and a flat roof placed thereon. The addition was built on in 1915. The new addition contained an athletic room in the basement, the second floor contained class rooms and the top floor was an assembly room. This was condemned and torn down and the present building was constructed which seems to satisfy the curious. The names of the Superintendents since the first high school building was built, are as follows: Matteson, Bradley, Johnson, Buchanan, Taylor, Brower, McMillan, Focht, Pye, Bradley, Ralph, Walker, Bowser, Weaver, Snider, Gaines, Griffith, Felter, Baumgartner, and Swanson.
