EVANGELICAL AND REFORMED CHURCH

The first Reformed Church was erected in Wilton in 1870. It was built near the western city limits, on the lot where E. A. Giles filling station now stands, on West 5th Street. It remained there until torn down in 1904. The wreckage was used in the new church building erected on East 5th Street, in 1904. In the year 1910 the choir loft was added unto the church building. The pews were placed in a semi-circle. In 1946 the chancel was changed. The following have served as pastors : Albright, Long, Runkle, Lackey, Erb, Beade, Ream, Baumgartel, Bloom, Bechtel, Kresge, Lau, Casselman, Redinbaugh, Achterman, Newgard, Rev. Newgard is now serving in his twenty-first year. They have a good parsonage across the street.
