WILTON GARDEN CLUB

Throught the efforts of Miss Frances Boot, the Wilton Garden Club was organized on April 15, 1939. The first officers of the club were : Frances Boot, president; Josephine Bailey, vice-president; Lillian Irvine, secretary. The first members of the club were: Irene Atkinson, Josephine Bailey, Cora Beard, Irene Birchard, Frances Boot, Faye Grunder, Rose Grunder, Lillian Irvine, Clyda Johnson, Pearl kelley, Blanche Kretschmar, Caroline Maurer, Theresa Nicolaus, and Mary Schroeder.

During the war the club gave to various divisions of war activity. The club also gave trees for the planting on the City Hall lawn.

The present members are: Ella Ayres, Irene Atkinson, Frances Boot, Clara Cooling, Grace Dawson, Mary feltman, Faye Grunder, Rose Grunder, Nellie Harper, Emma Holzhauer, Lillian Irvine, Eva Marie Johnson, Mayme McKeag, Jennie Kelley, Etta Luch, Caroline Maurer, Lena Potter, Florence Shafnit, Mary Schroeder, Myrtle Snider, Edith Rubel, and Edith Winsell. The officers are: Eva Marie Johnson, president; Faye Grunder, vice-president; Jennie Kelley secretary-treasurer.

> The club is associated with the Federated Garden Clubs of Iowa.
