CAMP FIRE GIRLS

In the year 1933, two local groups of younger and older girls were organized in National Camp Fire Girls. The Cheskchamay group was under the guardianship of Joyce Swanson, wife of the high school principal, and Frances Frymoyer acting as guardian of the Tallahassee group.

Although guardianship has changed a number of times, over a hundred girls have belonged throughout the years, with a full membership of twenty at all times, to enjoy camping and group activities.

During the World War II, they were active in assisting patriotic organizations. Inez Harding, wife of Dr. M. M. Harding, has been guardian for the past seven years. Girls who have completed Social Leadership, act as assistants.
