Old Settler’s Meeting.

At a called meeting of the Old Setters on the death of Douglass Dusmore, D. C. Richman, President, stated the object of our meeting and remarking on our being so frequently called together of late by the loss of some one of our number, he said that Mr. Dunsmore was one of the first he became acquainted with in Muscatine, when in his earlier years his methodical, correct business habits and public spirited, generous disposition were so marked, giving such fair promise of an honored and useful life. Now that he has passed away, it only remains for us to pay this last tribute of respect to his memory.

Messrs. Block, John Chambers and M. Couch were made a committee on resolutions, to report at the Mayor’s office to-morrow (Thursday) at 2 p. m.

On motion of Mr. Bridgman it was resolved that the Old Settlers attend the funeral in a body. Adjourned to meet at the Mayor’s office to-morrow (Thursday) at 2 p. m.

D. C. RICHMAN, Pres’t.
P. JACKSON, Sec’y.
