ANOTHER GONE --- DEATH OF REUBEN HOLCOMB – Chester Reuben Holcomb died at his residence on the Island at 8 ˝ o’clock Sunday evening, after a lingering affection, continuing three years, and pronounced by his physicians as Bright’s disease.

Reuben Holcomb dies at the age of 64 years. In the year 1845, he came from Portage county, Ohio, and was numbered among the oldest settlers of the county, completing a residence in this county, at his death of twenty-nine years. Mr. Holcomb leaves two children, Frank R., one of our township trustees with whom he resided and Mrs. Adeline Jarvis. Another daughter, Melissa, daughter of Harvey Gregory, died about nine years ago.

About a year ago since deceased embraced religion and joined the Presbyterian church, and in the faith of this church he died.

The funeral will take place this morning at 10 o’clock at the residence.

At his residence on Muscatine Island, at 8 o’clock p. m., July 19th, 1874, C. Reuben Holcomb, aged 64 years.

Funeral this morning at 10 o’clock from his late residence. The public are invited to attend.
