MRS. A. CHAMBERS

OLD SETTLERS MEETING. – At a meeting of old settlers Saturday, February 28, on the occasion of the death of Mrs. A. Chambers, in the absence of the President, Moses Couch was chosen chairman.

On motion, Wm. Lefflingwell, F. H. Stone and A. M. Winn were made a committee to report suitable resolutions and have the same published in our city papers. It was resolved that the old settlers meet at the family residence and walk from there to the church.

The committee reported as follows:

WHEREAS, It has pleased our ..in and Heavenly Father in His own infinite wisdom to remove hence, by death, our worthy and much esteemed sister and friend, Mrs. Anderson Chambers, Therefore:

Resolved, That we sincerely lament the absence of our friend from among us, and truly feel the loss of her plou… and exemplary influence by her exerted over and upon those of her associates, who are permitted awhile longer to perambulate this labyrinth of light and shadow; and, further, that we sincerely sympathize with the bereaved and afflicted family and invoke the great Author of our being to sanctify the affliction to their presence, future and eternal good.

On motion, it was ordered by the Society that this resolution be published in the papers of this city and a copy thereof transmitted to the afflicted family.
