Journal -- Died Sept. 11, 1871

At the homestead in Lake township, Muscatine county, on Sunday, Sept. 10th 1871, Mrs. Mary R. Williams, wife of the late Judge J. Williams, aged 63 years. Funeral services at the residence Tuesday Sept. 12th at 11 o’clock a.m. The funeral will go thence direct to the City Cemetary, where it will arrive about noon.

Another Pioneer Gone

Mrs. Mary R. Williams, relict of Judge Joseph Williams, died yesterday at the family residence near this city. She was one of the oldest female residents of Muscatine county, having located here with her husband in 1838. A large circle of friends and acquaintances mourn her decease. Her husband died about eighteen months ago.
