W. L DAVIDSON DEAD
Passed Away about Midnight - Illness of About Ten Days

W.L. Davidson, one of Muscatine's oldest and most highly respected citizens passed away last night near midnight, after a serious illness of about ten days. Of late years he has been quite feeble, but the last sickness was only of about ten days' duration.

He was born in Ohio, Feb. 29, 1812, and came to Muscatine in 1837, and has made this city his home continually ever since. he was well known here and has many friends. he was a man of quiet habits, but was well liked by all who knew him and was a very worthy citizen. For many years after he came here, he followed the occupation of a farmer, but more than 40 years ago moved to the city. he followed carpentering for some years in the city. He was a member of the M. E. church.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters; Tom Davidson, E. E. davidson, Mrs. Sarah Greely and Mrs. Sam Borger, of this city, and Z. T. Davidson, of Ackton, Cal.

The funeral services will be held at the family residence, 813 West Sixth street, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. C. L. Stafford, of the First M. E. church will conduct the service.
