FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT.
That of John Boke, Sr., Will Be Held Saturday Afternoon.

July 7, 1902 (hand written)

The funeral of John Boke, Sr., who died yesterday afternoon about 2:30 at his residence, 1237 Dale street, will be held at the family residence Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock.

He was born in West Morland county, Penn., and came to Bloomington (Muscatine) in 1852, moving from here to Port Louisa, where he lived until 12 years ago when he moved to this city. Since that time he has been a constant resident of this city and at the time of his death had reached the age of 68 years and two months. He was well known here and was a member of the Park Avenue M. E. church. Six years ago he suffered from a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered.

His wife and seven children—five daughters and two sons—survive, they being Mrs. Callie Shaw, of Letts, Mrs. Kate Biery, of this city, Mrs. Belle Flenner, of Chicago, John B. Boke, of this city, Mrs. Jennie Metzger, residing near Wilton, Mrs. D….Hoffman and Bert Boke, at home.
