Muscatine county relatives have been apprised of the death of MRS. SARAH NYE, who departed this life at Kearney, Neb., on Sept. 28th. Older residents will remember the decedent by her maiden name of Silverthorn and in her younger days was a resident of this county, living near Sweetland Center. She was a woman universally beloved and respected by all. The only near relatives now residing in this county are a granddaughter, Mrs. Fred. S. Pentzer, of Wilton, and a nephew, J. s. Blackwell, of this city. The remains will be transported hither for burial, the interment to take place at Melpine cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The services at the Melpine church will be conducted by Rev. Oliver Stuart, national chairman of the prohibition party and a long-time friend of the family.

OBITUARY.
Mrs. Sarah Nye.


Word was received in the city yesterday of the death of Mrs. Sarah Nye, at Kearney, Nebraska. Mrs. Nye will be remembered by the old settlers. Before her marriage she was a Silverthorn, which family was one of the first to come to this county. When Mrs. Nye was a resident of this county, she lived near Sweetland Center. She is the grandmother of Mrs. F. S. Pentzer, of Wilton, and an aunt of J. Scott Blackwell, of this city. The funeral services will be held at Melpine church, about ten miles northeast of here at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The services will be conducted by Rev. Oliver Stewart, of Chicago. Mr. Stewart will be remembered as chairman of the national prohibition convention last year. He is an old friend of the family.
