DEMISE OF MRS. MARY C. HARTMAN

Mrs. Mary Catherine Hartman passed away at 6 o’clock Thursday evening at the home of her son, George, in Montpeller township. She was born in Tuttlinger, Germany, Nov. 29, 1827, and was consequently in her 71st year. She came to America in 1854 and a year later was married to Henry Hartman, who preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1889. This union was blessed by six children, two of whom, Mary and Edward, died in 1887. The four surviving children are Jacob, of Fruitland, John L., of Nebraska, George, of Montpellar, and William, of Pine Mills, besides three children of Mr. Hartman by a former wife, being Charlotte, of Missouri, Adam, of this city, and Henry. Deceased was a consistent and true Christian. She was a member of the German Congregational church, was a kind neighbor and an affectionate wife and mother.

The funeral is appointed for Saturday from the residence of George Hartman, in Montpeller, at 10 a.m., and from the Pine Creek church, where she had been a member since 1858, at 12 the services to be conducted (article ends here).
