GONE TO REST
July 9 1898 (hand written)

The venerable MRS. DUNHAMdeparted this life at 6 o’clock last evening at the advanced age of 74 years and 2 days. Mrs. Dunham had been afflicted with heart trouble for the past three or four years, but the immediate cause of her death was paralysis, with which she was stricken on last Thursday afternoon, and which rendered her unconscious in which state she continued until she breathed her last. Her going is mourned by three sons, and two daughters, they being Mrs. C.N. Hoover of Lake City, Fla., Mrs. C.H. Groff of Tampa, and Messrs. George, Charles and Frank Dunham of this city. The deceased came hither with her late husband from Ohio in 1856, and after a residence of twenty years they moved to Florida, where Mr. Dunham died about ten years ago, the widow returned to Muscatine to reside with her children. Religiously she had been a consistent communicant of the M.E. church, for the past thirty years.

The funeral is appointed to take place Monday at 2 o’clock from the residence of her son, Frank, at 600 East Eighth street, Rev. Hackley officiating.
