OBITUARY.

MARGY BEATTY, who died August 27, 1896, was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, August 17, 1810, and accompanied by her parents and two sisters and two brothers, immigrated to America in 1843, arriving in Muscatine county on June 25, of that year. One sister had preceded the family to this country, settling in Virginia, and one remained at the old home. All of these have crossed the dark river, and were waiting to welcome their sister on the shining shore. Margy led an honorable and Charistian life, joining the Presbyterian church in her youth and keeping up her faith to the last. She bore her sufferings patiently, never complaining but always looking to the Lord, for He was her salvation.

“Asleep in Jesus; blessed sleep,
From which none ever wake to weep,
A calm and undisturbed repose,
Unbroken by the lust of foes.

“Asleep in Jesus! Far from thee
Thy kindred and their graves may be;
But thine is still blessed sleep,
From which none ever wake to wear”
