DEATH OF MRS. C.L. PEASLEY

After a long period of sickness and suffering, the wife of Charles L. Peasley died on the evening of June 1st, 1896, aged 63 years, 11 months and 22 days. The maiden name of the deceased was Malvina L. Carpenter. She was born in Starksboro, Vt., June 9, 1832. She was married to Charles L. Peasley, Feb. 22d, 1853, and settled with her husband four miles north of this city the following spring, which was their home until about one year ago, when they sold the old homestead and have since made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Effie Dykes, and her family. The deceased is survived by a sorrowing husband, three sons and one daughter, namely: Elbert C. of Palo Alto, Cal.; Leslie W., of Persia, Iowa; Samuel C., of Oroville, Cal., and Effie Dykes, of this place. Their youngest daughter, Mrs. Alice M. Fischer, preceded her mother to the spirit land on the 2d of December last, after a painful illness of nearly four weeks, and was followed by her infant son, Frank L., on the 7th of the same month. Mrs. Peasley had been in poor health for a number of years, and since the 25th of last November had been confined to the house almost en- (article ends here).
