DEATH SUMMONS

Old settlers will learn with regret of the death of GEORGE PETER KIRSCH, which occurred yesterday afternoon, about 4 o’clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Brown, No. 213 East Sixth street. Deceased had been in failing health for a long time and death came as a welcome messenger to relieve all earthly sufferings.

Mr. Kirsch was born in Mauer, Baden Baden, Germany, May 23, 1814.

When 30 years of age, he left the Fatherland for the country of his adoption, and after three years spent in the Keystone State he came to Iowa in 1851, since which date his residence in this community has been continuous. He was an honest and industrious citizen and a member of the German Evangelical church of this city.

His death is mourned by two sons and one daughter, Casper, of St. Louis, and Phillip and Mrs. H. Brown, of this city. Grand-children and great-grand-children also grieve over the old gentleman’s demise. The funeral is appointed to take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence of his daughter.
